Job summary

CHT Care Homes in Waiuku (NZ) is seeking a qualified Diversional Therapist to lead engaging activities for our 60-bed care home. You will bring energy, creativity and compassion to create meaningful moments for residents and work closely with the care team.

The role offers an opportunity to contribute to a not-for-profit organisation that reinvests in its people and resident experience, with a collaborative, supportive team and a emphasis on wellbeing and development.

Qualifications

• Qualified Diversional Therapist with experience in elder care.
• Ability to lead and collaborate with care teams.
• Creative and energetic approach to resident engagement.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and deliver individual and group activities that meet residents’ needs
• Encourage social interaction and participation, and document activity outcomes
• Maintain activity supplies and monthly activity schedules
• Follow health and safety requirements and report incidents
• Work collaboratively with the care team to improve the activity programme
