Job summary

Funky Gifts NZ in Frankton, Hamilton, is seeking a practical Christmas casual to join our small team during our busiest time of year. You will help with picking and packing online orders, gift wrapping, and assisting customers in-store and via email.

Ideally you have reliable work habits, good attention to detail, and can stay organized in a fast-paced environment. Prior retail/warehouse experience is helpful, but the right attitude matters most.

Qualifications

• Past retail, warehouse, dispatch or customer service helpful but not required.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking with good common sense.
• Comfortable using basic computer systems and writing clearly.

Responsibilities

• Picking and packing online orders accurately.
• Gift wrapping quickly and neatly.
• Handwriting customer messages in cards and gift tags.
• Receiving, checking and restocking products.
• Keeping the warehouse and dispatch areas organised.
• Assisting showroom and Click & Collect customers.
• Answering basic customer enquiries by phone and email.
• Helping with other general tasks as required.

Location: Frankton, Hamilton
Start date: Mid to late October

Hours: Casual seasonal role, with increased hours during November and December and also some hours in January for the right applicant.

Funky Gifts NZ is looking for a practical, reliable Christmas casual to join our small team during our busiest time of year.

This is a hands-on, varied role suited to someone with good common sense who can work quickly, accurately and calmly in a fast-paced environment. We are a small team that works hard to provide exceptional service and results, so everyone helps wherever needed.

The role includes:

• Picking and packing online orders accurately
• Gift wrapping quickly and neatly
• Handwriting customer messages in cards and gift tags
• Receiving, checking and restocking products
• Keeping the warehouse and dispatch areas organised
• Assisting showroom and Click & Collect customers
• Answering basic customer enquiries by phone and email
• Helping with other general tasks as required

Previous retail, warehouse, dispatch, gift wrapping or customer service experience would be helpful, but a strong work ethic and the right attitude are most important.

Applicants must be available from mid to late October, early November at the latest and throughout the busy Christmas period. Some weekend and evening work may be required closer to Christmas.

A handwriting sample is required because we write a high volume of personalised cards and notes for our customers.
