Job summary

DOC's risk, assurance and integrity function is seeking a senior leader to shape enterprise risk, governance, compliance and assurance across a large, operational organisation in New Zealand.

You will work with senior leaders and governance groups, providing independent advice, strengthening controls, and guiding modernisation through risk management, with a small, high-performing team. This permanent, full-time role offers Wellington-based flexibility and a salary range.

Qualifications

• Experience leading enterprise risk, assurance, governance or compliance in a large organisation.
• Ability to provide strategic advice to executives and governance forums.
• Proven track record influencing senior leaders and governance bodies.
• Experience in public sector or large operational environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and evolve DOC's enterprise risk, assurance, integrity and compliance functions.
• Provide strategic advice and independent insight to executives and governance forums.
• Oversee audit, investigations, compliance and protected disclosure activities.
• Strengthen organisational controls, accountability and assurance practices.
• Support modernisation through effective risk management and governance.
• Lead a small, high-performing team and build relationships across DOC.
