Job summary

Waikato Regional Council in Taupo is seeking a capable professional to participate in the development of catchment management work programmes, plans and budgets, and to plan, supervise and deliver specific projects including erosion control, plant pest control and riparian enhancement.

You will build and maintain relationships with iwi, community representatives and ratepayers, provide ongoing advice and information, and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team in an outdoor setting.

Mō ngā pūkenga | Qualifications and experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience (preferably longer) in a land and/or catchment management or similar role
  • A strong understanding and interest in soil conservation, erosion control, sustainable land management practices and agricultural farming systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including experience in preparing and presenting technical reports and plans.
  • Proven success at building relationships and resolving issues with internal and external stakeholders.
