Te Puna Wai Youth Justice Residence in Christchurch is seeking a Casual Residential Youth Worker to support rangatahi aged 13-17 who are awaiting court proceedings or serving sentences. You will be a mentor, coach and role model, helping them build skills, confidence and hope for the future in a safe, nurturing environment.

The role involves a 24/7 roster with evenings, weekends and public holidays. We offer paid induction and ongoing training, with a competitive hourly rate of NZD 26 plus 8%

Formación

• Experience in youth work, coaching, mentoring, tutoring, or community support.
• Experience in healthcare, psychology, education, sports, music, or the arts.
• Ability to listen without judgment and build respectful relationships; be physically active; and maintain reliability and consistency.

Responsabilidades

• Casual staff member covers shifts across a 24/7 roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Support 13–17-year-olds awaiting court proceedings or serving a sentence in a safe, nurturing environment.
