Job summary

Real is seeking casual Youth Workers to join our Bay of Plenty Youth Services, supporting taiohi aged 12–24 to build confidence, resilience and wellbeing. You will work with a great team, with hours offered when available.

Work with taiohi (young person) to support them and their whānau to build confidence, resilience & wellbeing. We provide health and wellbeing services for taiohi aged between 12 to 24. We believe in the importance of community, connection and relationships – and in the ability of young people to shape their own futures. The role is for casual Youth Workers to join our growing service at our Bay of Plenty Youth Services. If you are passionate about supporting young people to build confidence, resilience and wellbeing, and would like to work with a great team, we want to hear from you. The hours of work are not regular and are offered when they become available.

About you: Hold a Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent or be studying towards a recognised equivalent. Have experience in working with young people and an understanding of trauma-informed care. Have both de-escalation skills and relationship building skills. Hold a current full New Zealand Driver Licence. Hold a current New Zealand first aid certificate or be prepared to obtain one. Have knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
