Ara Poutama Aotearoa – Department of Corrections in Wellington is seeking Community Work Supervisors to oversee and mentor up to eight men and women serving community work sentences on meaningful projects at schools, reserves, Marae and churches. Two casual positions are available, based at the Wellington Community Corrections centre or Lower Hutt.
Roles involve Tue–Sat work from 7:30am to 4pm with potential training on Mondays, and travel to other Service Centres in the Wellington District as

As aCommunity Work Supervisor, you will oversee and manage up to 8 men and women who are serving their community work sentences on meaningful projects at schools, reserves, community groups, Marae and churches - whatever the community needs.

We have two casual positions available. One is based out of our Wellington Community Corrections centre and the other is based out of Lower Hutt Community Corrections.
These roles have the ability to work any days between Tuesday to Saturday. Hours of work are 7.30am – 4pm. You may also be required to complete training on a Monday.
You will be employed as part of the Wellington District and you will be required to travel to other Service Centres within the Wellington District to support as needed.

Community Work Supervisors come from a variety of backgrounds; from trades and farming to office jobs, retail, teaching and social agencies – so your experience could be just what we are looking for!

The starting salary for this role is $62,908 ($30.24 p/hr) ranging up to $66,887 ($32.16 p/hr) (pro rata). This can increase through upskilling whilst in the role.
