Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield in Auckland is seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our facilities team at the University portfolio. You will perform carpentry and general maintenance across campus buildings, handling reactive and planned tasks with a focus on safety and quality.

Ideal candidates have a carpentry trade background and proven maintenance experience, with good communication and a customer-focused approach. A NZ driver's licence and safety certifications are desirable.

About the Role

Reporting to the Trades Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for delivering carpentry and general building maintenance services across the University of Auckland portfolio.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Completing reactive‑and‑planned carpentry maintenance works
• Undertaking minor refurbishments, repairs, and improvement projects
• Carrying out general building maintenance and repairs
• Identifying maintenance issues and recommending solutions
• Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
• Maintaining accurate job records and documentation
• Liaising with clients, contractors, and stakeholders
• Supporting wider facilities maintenance activities as required

About You

We’re looking for a reliable and customer‑focused tradesperson who takes pride in delivering high‑quality workmanship. To be successful, you will have:

• Carpentry trade qualification (preferred)
• Previous commercial carpentry and maintenance experience
• Strong knowledge of general building repairs and maintenance
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Experience using mobile devices and work management systems
• Full New Zealand Driver Licence
• Strong commitment to Health & Safety
• Ability to use outlook, teams and all
• Highly Regarded Two or more years’ experience in commercial maintenance
• Site Safe certification
• Working at Heights certification
• Elevated Work Platform (EWP) certification
• Experience within facilities management, education, healthcare, or large commercial environments
