MedRecruit Limited is seeking a locum cardiologist for ASAP to 31 December 2026 in Whangarei, New Zealand. Shift times are Monday to Friday, 07:30–16:00, with travel and accommodation provided. You will work within a supportive, multidisciplinary team and deliver cardiology care across inpatient and outpatient settings.

The role offers opportunities in interventional cath lab duties and collaboration with House Officers, Registrars, nurses and SMOs in a dynamic hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Desirable inpatient ward experience in cardiology.
• Interventional cardiology duties in the Cath Lab desirable.
• Outpatient clinic activity desirable.
• Collaborative team environment with doctors, nurses and allied health staff.

Responsabilités

• Provide high-quality specialist cardiology care to inpatients and outpatients across hospital and community settings.
• Diagnose and manage cardiovascular conditions including coronary artery disease, heart failure and arrhythmias.
• Conduct ward rounds, outpatient clinics, consultations and assessments; make clinical decisions on patient care.

Position Details:

• Shift times: Monday - Friday, 0730 - 1600

Experience in some or all of the following areas is desirable:

• Inpatient ward responsibilities.
• Interventional Cardiology duties in the Cath Lab.
• Outpatient clinic activity.
• Collaborative team environment working alongside a House Officer, Registrar, Clinical Nurse Specialists, nursing staff, allied health team members, and SMOs.

Key Responsibilities (dependent on days worked):

• Provide high-quality specialist cardiology care to inpatients and outpatients across the hospital and community settings.
• Diagnose and manage the full spectrum of cardiovascular conditions (e.g., coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias).
• Conduct ward rounds, outpatient clinics, consultations, and assessments; make clinical decisions on patient care.
