Job summary

Health New Zealand Waitematā District is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to perform high-quality cardiac ultrasound procedures with a strong focus on patient safety and care. You will work closely with cardiologists and senior sonographers in a multidisciplinary team.

Applicants should hold an internationally recognised Cardiac Ultrasound qualification and be registered with the NZ Medical Radiation Technologists Board (or eligible).

Qualifications

• Internationally recognised qualification in Cardiac Ultrasound.
• Registered with the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologists Board (or eligible).
• Excellent communication skills, able to work in high-pressure environments.
• Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

About the Role

As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing high-quality cardiac ultrasound procedures, ensuring patient safety and care, and working closely with a multidisciplinary team, including Cardiologists and Senior Sonographers.

We aim to educate you and your whānau about your heart condition and empower you to manage it through self-care.

Health New Zealand Waitematā provides health services to approximately 650,000 residents of the North Shore, Waitakere, and Rodney areas. It has the largest population of any district health area.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Have an internationally recognised qualification in Cardiac Ultrasound
• Be registered with the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologists Board (or be eligible for registration)
• Have excellent communication skills, with the ability to work in stressful situations
• Be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Ideally, you will also have 2 years of post-graduate experience working as a Cardiac Sonographer.
