Qualifications

• PhD in Business Informatics, Management, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related discipline (essential)
• Prior postgraduate supervision, mentoring, or research guidance experience
• Experience in applied research, consulting, or industry projects
• Familiarity with research methodologies and academic writing
• Strong mentoring and coaching ability
• Excellent academic writing and feedback skills
• Ability to manage multiple students simultaneously
• High level of organisation and time management
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Commitment to academic integrity and ethical research practice

Capstone Project Supervisor - Master in Business Informatics

Remote - Anywhere in NZ

Contract

Part-time | Fixed-term | Remote. This is a fixed-term, part-time role working 10 hours a week (2x 5 hour days).

About the role

The Capstone Project Supervisor mentors postgraduate students undertaking their research or applied industry project over a 15-week duration. The supervisor provides structured academic guidance, ensures scholarly standards, and supports students in achieving Level-9 learning outcomes through independent research, analysis, and professional application. In this role, you will be assigned 10 students and will be expected to mentor them individually on a weekly basis. We currently have scheduled capstone engagement sessions on Mondays and Tuesdays, but supervisors may arrange meetings flexibly based on mutual availability with their students.
