Alpine Energy is seeking a Capex & Projects Accountant to own project accounting and the fixed asset portfolio, ensuring accurate capital expenditure reporting in Timaru and the Canterbury region.

You will work with Project Managers, Engineering, Asset Management and Finance to maintain strong financial controls, support investment decisions and deliver reliable financial information across capital programmes.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related discipline.
• CA, CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• 5+ years in financial analysis, management accounting or regulatory reporting.
• Experience in CAPEX analysis, fixed asset accounting, capitalisation and reconciliations.
• Strong analytical skills to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
• Advanced Excel and ERP/reporting systems experience.
• Experience supporting regulatory reporting and audits.

Responsabilidades

• Own project accounting and fixed asset processes to maintain strong financial controls.
• Monitor capital project expenditure against budgets and forecasts, identify variances and risks.
• Provide financial analysis, forecasting and reporting across capital programmes.
• Support decision-making and project outcomes with stakeholders.
• Manage project capitalisation and ensure asset recording is timely and accurate.
• Maintain Fixed Asset Register and oversee asset additions, transfers, disposals and depreciation.
• Reconcile WIP balances and capitalise appropriately.
• Classify capital vs operating expenditure per policies and standards.
• Assist budgeting, forecasting, regulatory reporting and audits.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting and cost visibility.
