We are looking for two tenacious Business Development Managers who have a successful track record in securing new advertisers and converting opportunities into revenue growth. You’ll sell across MediaWorks’ Radio, Outdoor and Digital platforms, helping new advertisers tap into Aotearoa’s most engaged audiences.

Your ability to build relationships and uncover opportunities will set you apart - thriving on delivering results for clients and exceeding your sales targets.

The opportunity

Reporting into the Commercial Director - Direct Markets, you will be converting leads into new accounts while delivering exceptional client service.

  • Seeking new accounts by implementing customised sales strategies
  • Cultivate and maintain an extensive network of business contacts
  • Exceed targets and KPIs
  • Building a strong, high-quality pipeline through cold outreach, referrals and market activity
  • Presenting compelling, commercially focused media solutions meeting clients needs
  • Negotiating and closing deals with pace and confidence
  • Maintaining accurate pipeline, forecasting and activity reporting
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure seamless onboarding of new clients

We’re open to this role being based in Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Wellington or Christchurch.

About you

You will have extensive Business Development experience, ideally in direct media sales. A natural sales star who cultivates and maintains an extensive network of business contacts. In all client or lead interactions you deliver exceptional service building trust and excellent rapport.

  • A demonstrated track record of winning new customers and exceeding targets
  • Strong negotiation, problem‑solving and communication skills, with a track record of delivering successful outcomes.
  • A self‑starter, who enjoys setting and smashing their goals.
  • Experience in new business acquisition and account management.
  • An understanding of the sales process, time management and planning.
  • Competitive and collaborative mindset, working effectively with cross‑functional teams to meet client needs and ensure high levels of satisfaction.
  • Strong commercial acumen and a deep understanding of market dynamics.
