Job summary

Department of Conservation (DOC) in Hokitika seeks a Ranger, Monitoring Operations Logistics Support to provide administration and logistical support to our field teams. You will ensure the teams have equipment and resources for daily field deployments and liaise with managers, iwi, and landowners for permissions.

The role focuses on coordinating permissions, bookings, data quality, and background information for field work, with potential afterhours responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Contact Operations Managers, iwi, landowners and managers to secure permissions for travel to plots and staying on location.
• Organise accommodation, equipment and other admin tasks to support field teams and Supervisor.
• Data quality assurance and maintaining information for field teams; prepare background information for field deployments.
• Occasionally act as afterhours contact for field teams.
• Be part of a national team; responsibilities may extend beyond the local team.
