Job summary

Legends Global is seeking an experienced Head of Audio-Visual for Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre to lead strategic and operational AV delivery. You will oversee a high-performance team, manage partners, and drive innovative AV solutions across conferences, exhibitions, and live events in New Zealand.

You will balance hands-on technical leadership with people management, commercial decision-making, and stakeholder engagement, reporting to the Director of Operations.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in professional audio-visual environments.
• Strong knowledge of converged network-based AV systems.
• Practical experience with Q-SYS and Crestron.
• Proven experience managing AV system upgrades and lifecycle planning.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working within complex venue environments.
• Proven experience leading technical teams.
• Strong budgeting, pricing, and commercial decision-making.
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day and strategic management of the AV department.
• Manage AV operations across major conferences, exhibitions, and events.
• Drive service excellence and client satisfaction.
• Lead and develop a high-performing AV team.
• Manage AV suppliers and service partners.
• Oversee maintenance, replacement, and procurement of AV assets.
• Lead AV system upgrades and technology enhancements.
• Support venue revenue growth through AV solutions and pricing strategies.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety and industry best practices.
• Contribute to annual planning, budgeting, and continuous improvement.
