Job summary

Huawei International Pte Ltd in New Zealand's Otago region is seeking engineers to design and develop SDK drivers and audio solutions for Harmony/Android platforms. The role focuses on intelligent voice algorithms, 3D audio codecs, and efficient implementations.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, tune audio quality, and leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate development and testing, delivering high-quality audio products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or related field.
• Solid programming foundation in C/C++, familiar with Linux or embedded OS environment programming.
• Strong software development skills and understanding of design principles and processes.
• Experience in software solution development for audio systems, codecs, or related areas.
• Basic knowledge of audio and complex software modules.
• Ability to utilize AI-assisted development tools to streamline workflows and improve delivery speed.

Job Description:

• Design and develop SDK drivers and Harmony/Android-based solutions in the audio domain, including end-to-end audio dynamic architectures.

• Implement and optimize intelligent voice algorithms, audio 3D codecs, and 3D sound effect algorithms, with a focus on efficiency and performance.

• Conduct audio quality (AQ) effect tuning, support customer integration, and deliver high-quality audio solutions under HiSilicon brand.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product development from design to deployment.

• Leverage AI tools and large language models to accelerate software development, code generation, testing, and debugging processes, enhancing overall R&D efficiency.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or related filed

• Solid programming foundation in C/C++, familiar with Linux or embedded operating system environment programming.

• Strong software development skills, familiar with software design principles, development processes, and project delivery.

• Experience in software solution development for audio systems, codecs, or related areas.

• Basic knowledge of audio and complex software modules.

• Demonstrated ability to utilize AI-assisted development tools (e.g., code completion, automated testing, intelligent debugging) to streamline workflows and improve delivery speed.

Bonus Points:

• Experience in basic algorithm development such as embedded system drivers and AI protocol stacks

• Working knowledge of DSP algorithm optimizations

• Experience in products such as mobile phones, smart watches, smart screens, set-top boxes, or other embedded devices

• Android/Linux system experience is preferred

• Proven track record of integrating AI-driven tools into the SDLC to reduce development cycle time and enhance code quality.
