Job summary

Propellerhead is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our core engineering team in Auckland. You will define future technical strategies, mentor peers, and help build secure enterprise software and deployment architectures.

You will work with Rust and TypeScript, guide PoCs to production, and enable teams with LLM‑assisted development. This hybrid role requires regular in‑office attendance in Auckland and relocation for NZ or international candidates.

Qualifications

• 7+ years exp as a Software Developer or Engineer in enterprise contexts.
• Proficiency in at least one enterprise language e.g. C#/.NET or Java/Spring.
• Experience with Rust or C++ for systems development.
• TypeScript and React plus web app development knowledge.
• Cloud deployment to Azure and/or AWS; CI/CD pipelines; Terraform.
• Design in distributed/async architectures; microservices and messaging.
• Ability to document designs clearly and communicate well.

Responsibilities

• Define technical solutions via research and team input under CTO guidance.
• Design and build software across full stack, including deployment architecture.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align design with budget and roadmap.
• Migrate polyglot solutions to Rust/TypeScript and share learning across team.
