PwC New Zealand is seeking a qualified accounting and tax professional for our Private Business team in Napier. You will support privately owned clients with accounting and tax obligations, navigate change, and help owners make informed decisions.

The role offers growing ownership of client work and collaboration with PwC specialists across New Zealand and internationally. You will prepare tax returns and financial statements, take ownership of tasks, and build lasting client relationships while

Qualifications

• Commerce or Accounting degree with CAANZ/CPA qualification or progress toward one.
• Solid experience in chartered accounting or professional services environment.
• Experience preparing NZ tax returns and financial statements with independence.
• Good working knowledge of NZ tax and accounting requirements.
• Confidence using Xero and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accounting and tax compliance work, including NZ tax returns and financial statements.
• Take ownership of client work and manage deadlines with senior support as needed.
• Work directly with clients to gather information, resolve queries and provide practical accounting and tax advice.
• Identify issues, risks and opportunities and discuss with the client team.
• Build relationships with business owners and finance teams as a trusted contact.
• Collaborate with PwC colleagues and specialists on broader client matters.
