Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Te Toka Tumai Auckland is seeking an Associate Nurse Unit Manager Haematology to provide operational and professional nursing leadership across a busy haematology service. The role supports safe, high-quality patient-centred care within inpatient and outpatient settings.

You will work with the Clinical Director and NUM to drive service improvements, capacity planning, and workforce development while mentoring junior staff and promoting safety and bicultural

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with current NZ Annual Practising Certificate.
  • Proficient Level 3-4 or Senior Nurse PDRP.
  • Post Graduate Certificate desirable.
  • Senior nursing leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational and professional nursing leadership to support safe, high-quality care.
  • Support day-to-day operational management, capacity, demand planning, and resource coordination.
  • Maintain high standards of clinical care and safety.
  • Support workforce development and quality improvement within the MDT.
  • Lead service improvement and project initiatives within inpatient and outpatient haematology.

## Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role* **Provide active, patient-centred Haematology care to patients across the Northern Region catchment area.*** **Exciting Fixed term 12 months Senior Nursing opportunity to develop and enhance your professional leadership skills while working alongside an experienced Nurse Unit Manager.*** **Excellent mentorship, career development, and the opportunity to grow your leadership capabilities within a dynamic and supportive Haematology service.**The Haematology Service at Auckland City Hospital is comprised of a 30-bed inpatient unit including 14 bone marrow transplantation (BMT) beds, a Haematology Day Stay Unit, 8 bedded Haematology/Oncology inpatient ward and outpatient clinics. The regional BMT service covers Northland and the greater Auckland region for autologous and allograft transplants and includes the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Lakes and Tairawhiti DHBs for allogeneic transplants.**About the Role**The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (Associate NUM) Haematology provides operational and professional nursing leadership to support the delivery of safe, high-quality, and person-centred specialised haematology care.
