The Walsh Memorial Library, nestled within MOTAT's Great North Road site since 1964, houses an extensive collection of material reflecting the MOTAT collection, it includes published, archival, documentary heritage, pictorial, and oral history collections.
The Library & Archives Team are looking for an Assistant Librarian –Publications to join the team. You will be responsible for the accurate sorting and recording of the library holdings specific to the published titles collections, this includes making recommendations for acquisition and deaccession of publications. As part of the Library team you will assist with research enquiries that come into the library from both the MOTAT Team and MOTAT visitors.
This is a permanent full-time, Monday to Friday, with the option to work on the occasional Live Day Sunday and you will take an alternative day off during that week.

To be successful in this role, you will need a minimum of two years’ experience working in a library with a Bachelor’s degree in Library & Information Studies, Museum Studies, or Heritage related qualification. You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the appropriate handling and care of Publications. Have a high level of computer literacy and collection management software, Vernon CMS preferred. Excellent communication and customer service experience is essential.
