Job summary

ZeroJet is seeking an assembly technician to build electrical and mechanical assemblies across our product range. You will follow drawings and work instructions, confirm conformance, and maintain build records while upholding 5S and safety policies.

The role involves collaboration with technicians, engineers, and production staff in a fast-paced environment on a growing marine tech platform. We value attitude, flexibility, and a passion for sustainable technology.

Qualifications

  • Experience in an assembly, manufacturing, or production environment.
  • Excellent quality focus, Attention to detail, ability to follow guidelines and keep records.
  • Experience with electromechanical or electrical assembly.
  • You take pride in producing high quality work.
  • Bonus points if you love the marine space, EVs, and/or the ocean.
  • You must have the rights to work in New Zealand to be considered for this role.

  • Assemble mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical components and systems according to work instructions, drawings, and specifications

Job description

Wave Propulsion combines ZeroJet and Tectrax into a fast-growing marine technology company developing high-performance electric jet propulsion systems, launchers, and amphibious systems for boats. Our vision is a future where all boats are electric.

We are now scaling up our production and are looking for an assembly technician to join the team.

About the role

You will be working facross our range of products, building an testing electrical and mechanical assemblies:

Assemble mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical components and systems according to work instructions, drawings, and specifications

Identify, report, and help resolve assembly defects or non-conformances

Maintain accurate build records, checklists, and traceability documentation

Work in accordance with ZeroJet’s Health & Safety policies and procedures

Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area (5S principles)

Work closely with other technicians, engineers, and production staff

About you

As a small team we are hiring for attitude first. We are looking for someone who wants to have fun, is flexible and willing to work across the business.

Experience in an assembly, manufacturing, or production environment
