Job summary

We invite an enthusiastic academic to join Te Kura Toi Tangata School of Education at the University of Waikato as a Lecturer, Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor in Arts Education. You will contribute to initial teacher education with expertise across Dance, Drama, Music and Visual Art, and to research-informed teaching for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Qualifications

• A relevant PhD or be working towards completion at Lecturer level.
• A recognised teaching qualification and current NZ practising certificate, or willingness to obtain/renew one.
• Demonstrated undergraduate teaching and teacher education mentoring experience.
• Experience contributing to postgraduate teaching and supervision.
• A commitment to innovative teaching, including online and team teaching.
• A strong research and scholarship record, with research funding and postgraduate supervision experience appropriate to the level of appointment.
• Strong communication, collaboration and time-management skills.
• A commitment to Māori and Pasifika perspectives, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and an inclusive and collaborative academic environment.
• Applicants with a strong academic profile and an established record of research, teaching, postgraduate supervision and academic leadership may be considered for appointment at Associate Professor level.
