What you’ll do
You’ll work as part of cross‑functional teams to build native Android applications that help our clients bring their digital products to life. You’ll contribute directly to technical delivery, take ownership of your development streams, and help ensure the quality and robustness of our mobile solutions.
You will:
- Develop and implement Android applications using Kotlin and Java
- Write clean, efficient, maintainable code following established patterns and industry best practices
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging to deliver high‑quality, reliable mobile experiences
- Collaborate with designers, developers, Producers, and Technical Leads to align on project goals and technical approach
- Participate in team rituals including stand‑ups, WIPs, and technical discussions
- Contribute to improving our Android development practice, tools, and ways of working
- Produce clear, concise technical documentation for your code and processes
- Stay across evolving Android frameworks, libraries, and best practices, bringing relevant advancements into your work
Requirements
You must already be based in New Zealand and available to work from one of our offices in either Auckland or Wellington.
You’ll bring:
- 2+ years of commercial experience developing native Android applications
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin, with practical experience in Java
- Experience using Android Studio, debugging tools, and modern Android development frameworks
- Familiarity with: Clean Architecture, Dependency injection, Unidirectional data flow, Declarative UI, Event‑based processing, Modern best practices
- Familiarity and experience with web services (REST, JSON, XML) and mobile API integration
- Knowledge of Braze and Customer Engagement Platforms (CEPs) would be beneficial
- Understanding of performance optimisation, device considerations, and secure coding practices
- Strong attention to detail, clean coding habits, and a commitment to quality
- Confident communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross‑functional delivery team
- A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset and a desire to keep growing your craft
