Our goal is to improve health outcomes for all New Zealanders by delivering equitable, accessible and innovative care.

About the Role

As an Analyst, you will provide analytical support to our Primary and Community teams, helping turn complex data into clear insights that inform planning, investment and service decisions.

You'll also play an important role in bringing analytical thinking into service design and development early in the process. Your insights will help ensure new models of care are evidence‑based, effective and equitable, with a strong focus on improving Māori health equity and outcomes across other population groups.

About the Team and Location

You'll be part of a collaborative team of analysts within Planning, Funding and Outcomes, working alongside senior and principal analysts and partnering with national and regional Primary and Community teams.

The role works across a broad network of colleagues, including Data and Digital, other Health New Zealand business units and functions, sector representatives and government agencies

You'll bring strong analytical capability, with experience using tools such as Power BI, SQL, Excel, R or similar, together with an understanding of quantitative statistical methods and how to apply them to generate meaningful insights.

You'll be comfortable working with complex information and ambiguity, and able to translate analytical findings into clear, practical advice for different audiences. Experience in the health sector would be advantageous.

You will bring:

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to turn data into meaningful insights.
  • Experience working with data extraction, processing, analysis and interpretation.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with tools such as Power BI, SQL, R or similar.
