Job summary

Westpac New Zealand is seeking an experienced AML/CFT Analytics Manager to lead a team of about 13 analytics professionals responsible for AML/CFT detection, monitoring and reporting capabilities. This pivotal role blends strategic leadership with deep analytical expertise to strengthen our risk-based controls.

As a member of the Financial Crime Intelligence & Insights leadership team, you will influence decisions, drive continuous improvement and partner with Risk, Compliance, Technology

Qualifications

• Experience leading analytics teams in regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of AML/CFT, sanctions and regulatory expectations.
• Proven ability to translate analytic insight into risk-based decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing AML/CFT analytics team.
• Oversee transaction monitoring scenarios and detection models.
• Drive optimisation, automation and innovation in financial crime analytics.
• Provide expert advice on AML/CFT risk, regulatory changes, audits and remediation.
• Deliver governance reporting and risk metrics to senior leaders.
• Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Financial Crime Operations, Technology and Data teams.
• Ensure analytics capabilities evolve with emerging financial crime threats.
