Job summary

EMED Group is seeking a compassionate Ambulance Care Assistant in Wellington to transport patients to and from appointments and between facilities. Full-time roles offer shifts from 05:00 to 00:00, Monday to Sunday, at a rate of £12.71 per hour. Training is provided, with emphasis on patient care and empathy.

You will be working with colleagues or independently, requiring a full UK manual driving licence and good physical fitness for manual handling. DBS checks are funded by the company.

Qualifications

• Valid UK manual driving licence.
• Good physical fitness for manual handling.
• Experience in a care background advantageous but not essential.
• Effective communication and empathy in emotional situations.
• Ability to pass an Enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Drive patients to and from medical appointments and between healthcare facilities.
• Assist with lifting, securing and helping patients in and out of the ambulance.
• Maintain the ambulance to keep it safe, clean and tidy.
• Hand over patients to appropriate staff on arrival at treatment centres/hospitals or homes.
