West Coast District Health Board is seeking an Allied Health Assistant/Kaiatawhai to support the Te Whatu Ora Te Tai o Poutini Allied Health Service across inpatient, outpatient and community settings on the West Coast, from Karamea to Haast.
Experience is not essential; you should commit to completing your Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Health Assistant) Level 3 within 24 months of starting. A full NZ driver’s licence and strong communication skills are essential.

The Allied Health Assistant/Kaiatawhai is responsible for providingsupport to the Te Whatu Ora Te Tai o Poutini Allied Health Service indelivering effective, efficient and quality patient focused therapeutic carewithin the inpatient, outpatient and community settings.

Specifically,the role is responsible for:
Our West Coast Allied HealthTeam includes Allied Health Assistants/Kaiatawhai, Dietetics, Music Therapy,National Travel Assistance Coordination, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy,Social Work and Speech Language Therapy. We are based out of Westport,Greymouth and Hokitika and deliver assessment and intervention within inpatient, outpatient and community settings covering the WestCoast from Karamea to Haast.
