Job summary

Marloo, a Wellington-based advisory-tech startup, is seeking a proactive AIOps operator who can own the work and build scalable tooling. You’ll turn messy business problems into working AI-enabled systems, support financial advisers, and drive improvements across activation, conversion and retention.

You will create small internal tools and workflows, monitor operations, onboard customers, handle invoicing and payments, and collaborate across product, design and GTM teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver an exceptional customer experience. Help advisers succeed, solve problems with empathy and urgency, and go beyond closing the ticket.
• Build internal tools. Create small systems, scripts, agents and workflows that remove repetitive work and make the team more effective.
• Build growth loops. Turn signals from product usage and customer behaviour into timely, useful actions that improve activation, conversion and retention.
• Create AI workflows. Use modern AI and automation tools to handle work that would otherwise need more headcount.
• Turn customer conversations into insight. Find patterns, quantify them and make sure the product and go‑to‑market teams can act on them.
• Keep the machine running. Own the operational work that matters now, including onboarding, invoicing, payment issues and internal requests.
• General pitching in where the company needs you. We’re building a team of highly empowered doers. “Not my job” is not part of the AIOps vocabulary.

AIOps at Marloo

AIOps is the team that helps Marloo operate at the scale most companies need ten times the headcount to achieve. We build internal tools, growth loops and AI workflows. We also do the hands‑on work needed to keep customers delighted and the business moving.
We are looking for a high‑agency operator who can also build. You might be an ex‑consultant, startup operator, analyst or ambitious generalist. You need to be comfortable using AI to turn messy business problems into working systems, and excited to support advisers in having a best in class experience on our platform.

You’re a fit if

• You want direct exposure to all aspects of building and scaling a company

• You're comfortable with high ownership and responsibility

• You don't need to be experienced in financial services, but some understanding of the industry would be helpful

• Willing to prioritise in-person collaboration. Also able to travel internationally as needed

Salary: $30/h. Exceptions on a case‑by‑case basis and determined relative to open compensation standards. Happy to discuss what that would look like for you specifically during our interview process.
