Job summary

Tui Lifecare, Papakura, Auckland 2110, part of the New Zealand Aged Care Services group, is seeking a practical, reliable Maintenance Person to help keep our facility safe, comfortable, and well presented for residents, staff, and visitors.

Carry out general repairs and maintenance across the facility, including plumbing, minor electrical, painting, and carpentry, with regular health and safety checks and prompt response to requests.

Qualifications

• Practical trade skills or solid all-round maintenance/handyperson experience.
• A proactive, safety-conscious approach and good problem-solving skills.
• Full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence.
• Comfortable working around residents in a healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general repairs and maintenance across the facility, including plumbing, minor electrical, painting, and carpentry.
• Complete regular health and safety checks, including fire and call bell systems, in line with facility schedules.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and residents.
• Maintain building exteriors, car parks, and equipment in good working order.
• Support contractors on larger projects and help maintain compliance records.
• Assist with moving furniture and equipment, and general facility upkeep.
