Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, Waikato is seeking a proactive NICU Medical Administrator to support the Newborn Intensive Care Unit at Waikato Hospital. This permanent role (36 hours per week) requires flexibility, self-management and close collaboration with the NICU Head of Department and medical staff.

You will handle day-to-day administrative tasks across the unit, including roster input, meeting minutes, ordering, policy support and data entry, contributing to efficient daily operations

Job description

Position Title: NICU Medical Administrator

Location: Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Waikato Hospital

Details: Permanent, 36 hours per week

The Opportunity

The Newborn Unit is seeking an experienced, highly motivated and enthusiastic administrator with administration experience to be a part of their busy team. Along with excellent administration skills, the tasks you will be expected to undertake may vary across our service, so flexibility and self-management skills are key to this role.

Key responsibilities: This role works closely with the NICU Head of Department and doctors, supporting them in the day-to-day administration and operation of the unit from a medical perspective.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a can do attitude who likes variety and is willing to go the extra mile. If you enjoy a challenge and are a fast learner, this could be the role for you.

NICU is a 41-bed unit that is committed to providing progressive intensive care for Waikato tamariki and whanau. We are a small team with big goals. Our success is driven by high performance targets and the varied needs of our patients and whanau.
