Job summary

Southern Cross Brightside Hospital in Auckland is seeking an organised, proactive administrator to join our Administration team. This permanent, full-time role involves welcoming patients, handling patient information, and supporting hospital staff with a busy, varied workload.

You will use Microsoft Office, manage multiple priorities with confidentiality, and may assist across different areas of the hospital.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an administration, coordination or customer service role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and welcoming approach.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and learning new systems.
  • Experience managing financial administration tasks, including invoicing, payments or funding arrangements.
  • A collaborative and flexible approach, with a willingness to support different areas of the hospital as required.
  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster across morning and afternoon shifts, including Saturdays when required.
  • Experience working in a healthcare environment would be advantageous but is not essential.

Southern Cross Healthcare – Auckland, North Island

Southern Cross Brightside Hospital in Epsom, Auckland has 33 in-patient beds and 6 day-stay chairs. Surgical specialities include Orthopaedics, Urology, Gynaecology, General Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Otolaryngology.

Our hospital features an intermediate care facility, a specialised post-operative ward for patients with medical conditions or surgical issues that require an enhanced level of monitoring and care. The beds are equipped to support invasive monitoring, medical infusions, and a 24-hour monitoring service, with specialised nurses with the knowledge and skills to deliver a more sophisticated level of care as required.

As part of our Administration team, you'll play an important part in the day-to-day operation of the hospital. From welcoming patients and visitors through our doors to supporting medical specialists and hospital teams behind the scenes, no two days will be the same. You'll often be the first person our patients interact with, helping to create a warm, professional and reassuring experience from the moment they arrive.
