What This Role Is About

This is a casual role which involves working either of the following shifts in our Women's Emergency Accommodation.

Shifts: 4.30pm-12.30am

12.15am-8.30am

The position is part of an integrated team of individuals that work closely together in a residential setting to provide support, coping strategies and medication management for men and women in our accommodation services. The team members are appropriately trained and qualified support workers, supported by clinical staff to provide twenty-four hour, seven days per week support, to meet residents’ individual needs.

About You - What you Bring

We are seeking someone with the following skills and experience:

  • Level 4 certificate in health and wellbeing or equivalent experience (or currently studying for)
  • Experience working with people who are homeless or at risk
  • Skilled in coaching, mentoring and managing teams
  • Great communication and people skills
  • Knowledge of Canterbury’s social services
  • Strong understanding of social justice, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and relevant laws
  • Ability to manage time well, stay calm under pressure, and make good decisions
  • Commitment to respectful, inclusive, and ethical practice
  • IT confident and able to manage reporting and systems
  • Comfortable working in a values-led, Christian-based organisation
