Job summary

Nord University in Bodø seeks a Researcher to lead lipid bioprospecting on extremophilic microbes for the XTREMOLIFE consortium. The role centers on analytical chemistry, using GC-MS with tandem MS to identify novel lipid metabolites from challenging environments.

The successful candidate will collaborate across Europe, contribute to project deliverables, and publish results in high-impact journals. A PhD in analytical chemistry or biochemistry and fluent English are essential.

Qualifications

• PhD in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or closely related field with emphasis on metabolomics/lipidomics.
• Postdoctoral experience is advantageous.
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Analytical chemistry work using hyphenated platforms to prospect lipid metabolites with GC-MS/MS.
• Coordinate activities and deliverables with European consortium partners.
• Disseminate results in high-impact peer-reviewed papers.
• Present findings at international conferences and consortium meetings.
