Changing the industry – Kratos Digital Ground

With the office located at the developing peninsula of Fornebu, Kratos Norway (former VeriSat AS) is part of Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc.. Kratos Norway is the Center of Excellence for VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) technology within the Kratos group. We provide industry-leading satellite communication products for the ground segment including a patented and award-winning solution for VSAT interference mitigation. We work with clients, partners and other Kratos subsidiaries worldwide.

Kratos is a leading provider of satellite control and monitoring solutions to satellite operators with an 80% global market share. We are looking for a Technical Leader to contribute to the development of the next generation of digital and virtualized satellite monitoring and communication products.

Key responsibilities include:

• Together with the Scrum Master and Product Owner, lead the planning and development activities of a scrum team (5-7 developers).
• Low-level design, architecture and following up of technical implementations.
• Software release management and product documentation.
• Research and evaluation of technological options.
• Technical risk assessment, contribution to roadmaps estimation.
• Collaboration with other Kratos development teams, both locally and abroad (mainly in the US).
• Key contributor to the Kratos planning cycles (this might require travelling or remote meetings in the US time zone).
• Support other parts of the organization at need (sales, delivery, or customer support).

Experience & Skills:

• Higher technical education within software development, minimum master’s degree.
• Significant and documented experience in software design, software architecture and development.
• Very strong C++ skills. Experience with C# is a strong advantage.
• Solid experience with CI/CD.
• Firsthand experience with virtualization, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with development on Linux and Windows.
• Distributed systems and microservices.
• Communication protocols, e.g., TCP/IP, 3GPP.
• Familiarity with digital communications and signal processing is advantageous.
• Atlassian toolchain.
• Managerial experience, able to multi-task, delegate, predictive and apply good problem-solving approaches.
• Results-oriented, methodical, and structured.
• Good communication skills with joy to mentor and follow up.
• Comfortable in using English as working language.
