Job summary

PPOAR in Svalbard is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to operate and maintain bulldozers, excavators, and loaders on our construction sites. You will ensure safe, efficient use of equipment and complete daily reports on work performed while coordinating with team members.

Requirements include at least 2 years of equipment operating experience, a valid operator license, and a high school diploma. Reading blueprints is a plus. Accommodation is provided for this full-time role.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Valid heavy equipment operator license/certification.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics is preferred but not required.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and operate in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Follow all safety regulations and procedures while operating equipment.
• Complete daily reports on work performed and any issues encountered.
• Communicate clearly with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure efficiency.
• Troubleshoot any mechanical or technical issues that may arise.
