Job summary

Monil is seeking a summer software internship in Norway to work on real-world problems that affect farmers and animals. You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers to build frontend and backend features, visualize data, and create meaningful tools for our users.

The internship runs for 6–8 weeks starting in June. We value curiosity, collaboration, and practical problem solving across Go, TypeScript, and Python. A competitive salary is offered in a scale-up environment.

Are you interested in working onsoftware with real-world impacts? At Monil, we write servers and client applications which improves the lives of both farmers and animals. We solve hard problems and work with large amounts of data, all with the goal of improving animal well-fare and farmers' productivity.

As a summer intern in Monil, you'll get to work on interesting problems where you'll have to use your own imagination and creativity in order to find good solutions to technical challenges. You'll work in collaboration with our experienced team of engineers, as well as with other departments, creating impactful solutions to actual problems.

The software team

Monil's software team creates and operates the infrastructure, backend servers and client applications used by our employees and users to interact with and monitor our smart collars. Our apps are implemented in React and Typescript, while the majority of our backend is written in Go. We store large amounts of data and statistics in our PostgreSQL and Timescale databases. We're not afraid to make big investments in order to provide the best tools possible for our users.

About the job

• Join Monil's software team, developing software to interact with our smart animal collars
• Help create the best possible, mission-critical tools for our users to interact with their livestock and our physical products, building fantastic visualizations based on large amounts of data.
• Contribute to our frontend or backend apps, or a combination of the two.

The internship will begin in June, with the exact start date to be agreed upon. It will last for 6-8 weeks. The application deadline is October 6th.
