Job summary

Procore Technologies in Norway is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer (C#/C++) to join our Product & Technology Team. You will shape architecture and backend systems powering BIM and construction management platforms globally.

You will lead high-performance backend development, design distributed services, and mentor engineers, while collaborating with product, frontend, infrastructure, and platform teams to deliver robust APIs and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional backend experience.
• Strong expertise in modern C++ (C++17/20+).
• Experience designing distributed systems and microservices at scale.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of high-performance backend systems in Rust/C/C++.
• Architect and build scalable, distributed services aligned with SOA and microservices.
• Own complex technical initiatives from concept to production with reliability and performance in mind.
• Collaborate with Product, Frontend, Infrastructure, and Platform teams to deliver robust APIs and services.
• Promote engineering best practices in system design, testing, and performance optimization.
• Drive architectural decisions for enterprise-scale customers across markets.
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers with code reviews and guidance.
• Address scalability and observability challenges in large distributed systems.
