Advokatfirmaet Selmer is looking for English-qualified solicitors with zero to eight years’ experience to handle cross-border matters and work on contracts spanning both Norwegian and English law.

You will join a team advising on shipping, offshore wind, and renewable energy projects, collaborating closely with clients and colleagues to deliver clear, practical legal solutions across jurisdictions.

With an increasing number of cross-border matters spanning multiple jurisdictions, we are looking to recruit English qualified solicitors with zero to eight years' experience.

Many of our clients need to navigate both Norwegian and English law contracts, and the demand for lawyers experienced in both legal systems continues to grow. You will work on matters across shipping, offshore wind, renewable energy, and offshore energy, and play a key role in this growing area of our practice.

Your experience and attributes

We are looking for a candidate with a strong academic record and a genuine interest in business, who is motivated by our vision of turning our clients challenges into solutions.

We are seeking someone with sound judgement, the confidence to work independently when required, and a collaborative mindset that ensures close engagement with the wider team. You have an ability to build strong relationships with both clients and colleagues.

You likely have

• A valid practising certificate, or alternatively have independently initiated the SQE process.
• Zero to eight years' experience, preferably gained in a reputable law firm or in-house environment.
• Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously, often across different jurisdictions.
• Strong ability to navigate complex issues involving multiple stakeholders, providing clear advice on risks, benefits and solutions.
• Ability to communicate legal advice clearly and pragmatically to a range of audiences.
• Hands‑on, collaborative approach to problem‑solving.
