Emerson’s Roxar product organization is seeking a Software Test Engineer to help deliver reliable, high-performance software for advanced flow measurement and instrumentation in the energy sector.

You will review requirements, design tests, and drive automation to support CI/CD pipelines. Collaboration across software, firmware and hardware teams will ensure robust validation and quality for releases in Stavanger, Norway.

Competenze

• Experience with software testing, verification, and validation against requirements.
• Understanding of software development lifecycles, version control systems, defect tracking tools, and release processes."
• Programming or scripting experience, preferably using Python.
• Experience testing solutions that integrate software, firmware, electronics, and communication interfaces.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Mansioni

• Review requirements, architecture, and design documentation to identify risks, improve testability, and define acceptance criteria.
• Develop and execute risk-based test strategies, test plans, and test cases, ensuring traceability to product requirements.
• Design, implement, and maintain automated test solutions, reusable test libraries, simulators, and test environments.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and leverage results to provide timely feedback to development teams.
• Perform functional, integration, system, regression, exploratory, performance, and robustness testing.
• Investigate software issues, analyze logs and test data, reproduce defects, and support root-cause analysis efforts.
• Verify customer-reported and manufacturing-related issues and expand regression coverage to prevent recurrence.
• Create clear defect reports and provide objective quality assessments to support release readiness decisions.
• Drive continuous improvement of testing methodologies, automation capabilities, and quality practices.
