Job summary

Spektrum is seeking a UX-focused designer to shape the NEC CCIS web client's user experience from the ground up. You will lead usability research and own the system's design language in Figma, partnering with developers to deliver a modern, intuitive interface for NATO operations.

Based on-site in Norway, you will translate user insights into wireframes, prototypes, and dashboards, with emphasis on GIS features and enterprise-scale information systems.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of interaction design, information architecture, and usability principles.
  • Ability to create wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and graphical designs.
  • Experience with user interviews, surveys, and usability testing, and the ability to synthesise research into actionable insights.
  • Experience in UX roles, ideally with a portfolio of shipped products.
  • Preferred: UX experience for enterprise management information systems and/or GIS systems.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and establish requirements for modernisation of the NEC CCIS web client through user interviews, observation, and usability testing
  • Maintain the design system for the NEC CCIS web client, expressed in Figma
  • Guide and communicate with developers on implementation of the design
  • Improve the UX and design system based on usability testing feedback
  • Design advanced GIS features and dashboard functionality for the web client

RoleBackground

This role shapes the user experience of the NEC CCIS web client, a high-density, data-intensive enterprise application supporting NATO air operations. The successful candidate will lead usability research and own the system's Figma-based design system, working closely with developers to deliver a modernised, intuitive interface.
