Job summary

TransitPro Solutions in Oslo, Norway is seeking an experienced Turner for our industrial workshop. You will set up and operate lathes, milling machines, drill presses and grinders to produce precision metal parts from engineering drawings.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in turnery, proficiency in reading drawings and using precision instruments, and a proven ability to work independently while maintaining quality and safety standards. We offer a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years experience as a Turner in an industrial setting.
Proficient in operating various machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, etc.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Strong knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
Good understanding of metal properties and cutting speeds.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality work.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, etc.
Study engineering drawings and specifications to determine the best machining methods and sequences.
Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure accuracy of dimensions.
Monitor machine operation and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality standards.
Inspect finished parts for defects and ensure they meet specifications.
Maintain tools and equipment in good condition.
Follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
