Job summary

TikTok is seeking a Senior SDET to join our testing team and help ensure the quality of large-scale services. You will design and execute test plans, automate where possible, and contribute to release readiness across global components.

You will collaborate with software engineers and DevOps to improve tooling, build robust automation, and validate complex systems at scale, while maintaining a focus on reliability, performance, and rapid delivery.

Qualifications

• BS/MS degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with API testing (2+ years).
• Proficiency in Java, Python, Objective-C or Golang for related projects.
• Familiar with Django/Flask and other web frameworks.
• Experience with Redis, NSQ, ZeroMQ, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, Hive and Spark.
• Strong problem solving and cross-team coordination.

Responsibilities

• Own the entire system testing process including analysis, design, test execution and defect tracking.
• Engage in project management, risk management and process improvements.
• Collaborate with automation/performance teams to build internal tools and testing frameworks.

About the team

The centralized Testing team for TikTok provides support for multiple service component value chains. In this role team members have the opportunity to validate automate develop and manage the complex challenges of scale with your expertise in large-scale systems. The main responsibilities include maintaining automation test handling user feedback functional validation building the App and release management.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the entire system testing process including but not limited to: analysis designing and executing test plans and cases and conducting defect tracking


• Work on project management risk management and process management tasks


• Help implement test tools and collaborate with automation/performance test teams to build up internal tools/frameworks/platforms to make the team more productive.

Qualifications

• BS/MS degree in a relevant field: Computer Engineering or EE


• Familiar with Java/Python/Objective-C/Golang experience in related projects development


• 2+ years of experience with API testing


• Familiar with web architecture understanding of Django/Flask and other frameworks is preferred


• Familiar with Redis NSQ Zero-MQ Kafka Docker K8s Hive Spark


• Excellent problems solving skills ability to coordinate with different local and global teams


• Strong passion for mobile internet and building next generation mobile application can take full responsibility for end to end service.
