Job summary

Mercury is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial and contractual aspects on complex engineering and construction projects in Kristiansand, Norway. You will review contracts, manage sub-contractor accounts, and forecast cash flow while ensuring accuracy and profitability.

Ideal candidates hold a degree in a related field and have 5–7 years of QS experience, with strong Excel skills and the ability to negotiate with clients and suppliers.

Qualifications

Degree qualified and/or relevant industry experience.
5-7 years’ experience in a QS role.
Strong working knowledge of contracts and Excel is required.

Responsibilities

Review and understand project contract documentation.
Prepare and analyse supplier and sub-contractor enquiries.
Prepare and issue contract documents to our supply chain.
Monitor changes in scope and pricing of variations.
Prepare and agree monthly progress applications.
Financial and contractual control of sub-contractor accounts.
Issue contract notices and evaluate loss/expense/acceleration claims.
Provide fast, accurate, competitive and profitable estimates.
Prepare monthly commercial project reports.
Provide data and analysis of issues and risks as required by management.
Manage and forecast project cash flows.
Liaise with client, main contractor and other departments.
All other duties associated with this role.

Key Responsibilities Of The Role

Review and understanding project contract documentation

Essential Criteria For The Role

Academically (Degree) qualified and or relevant experience in the industry
5-7 years’ experience in a QS role
A wide understanding of work contracts
A working knowledge of Mechanical/Electrical Work Packages
Good with Figures
Able to negotiate with clients on a professional level
Experience in use of Excel a requirement
Excellent Analytical and problem-solving skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Gjennomgang og forståelse av prosjektkontraktsdokumentasjon
Utarbeide og analysere forespørsler fra leverandører og underleverandører
Utarbeidelse og utstedelse av kontraktsdokumenter til vår leverandørkjede
Overvåking av endringer i vårt arbeidsomfang og prising av variasjoner
Utarbeide og godkjenne månedlige fremdriftssøknader
Finansiell og kontraktsmessig kontroll av underleverandørers kontoer
Utstedelse av kontraktsvarsler og vurdering av taps- og utgifts-/akselerasjonskrav
Gir raske, nøyaktige, konkurransedyktige og lønnsomme estimater
Utarbeidelse av månedlige kommersielle prosjektrapporter
Levere data og analyser av problemer og risikoer etter behov fra ledelsen
Styring og prognostisering av prosjektets kontantstrøm
Samarbeid med klient, hovedentreprenør og andre avdelinger
