Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Senior ML Engineer - Email Security for a remote-first role based in Norway. You will own end-to-end ML development for a production-grade email filtering system, balancing accuracy and false positives while extending a Go-based inference engine and integration with email security pipelines.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in production ML/classification, hands-on transformer training with PyTorch, and proven ability to ship reliable, scalable security tech.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in production detection/classification systems with impactful false positives.
• End-to-End ML ownership including corpus construction, thresholding, error analysis, and releases.
• Hands-on transformer training with PyTorch, tokenizers, ONNX, CPU inference performance.
• Strong Linux, shell scripting, Python skills, and experience with shared servers/GPU resources.

Responsibilities

• Train, evaluate, and release spam-detection models, including corpus management and threshold analysis.
• Develop production components of a new email-filtering engine in Go, including inference service and parsing.
• Investigate customer-reported incidents and improve detection with rules, data, or retraining.
• Balance detection performance with false-positive risk to minimize legitimate blocks.
• Maintain training infrastructure and data tooling for reliable experiments and releases.
• Review classifier, rule, and model changes to ensure quality and release readiness.
• Explain model scoring and outcomes to partner engineers with clear guidance.
• Write technical docs, handbooks, merge requests, and post-mortems for collaboration.
• Deliver milestones such as a rule-model release in month 1 and staged components by month 3.
