Job summary

SAS in Norway is seeking a media relations professional to strengthen the airline’s reputation. You will build journalist relationships, act as spokesperson, manage media requests, and develop proactive PR campaigns in close collaboration with colleagues across Scandinavia.

You should bring several years of journalism, communications, or PR experience, excellent editorial judgment, and strong writing and storytelling skills. Norwegian fluency and professional English are essential.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in journalism, media relations, PR, or corporate communications.
• Strong understanding of the Norwegian media landscape and public agenda.
• Excellent editorial judgment and ability to identify story relevance.
• Strong writing and storytelling skills.
• Ability to communicate with journalists, executives, and colleagues at all levels.
• Ability to translate complex matters into clear messages.
• Interest in aviation, business, sustainability, politics, and societal issues.
• Fluency in Norwegian and excellent professional English.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with Norwegian journalists and media stakeholders.
• Act as a media spokesperson and point of contact for SAS in Norway.
• Handle incoming media requests with timely, accurate responses.
• Identify and develop proactive media opportunities to raise awareness.
• Develop and execute PR activities and campaigns in Norway with colleagues across Scandinavia.
• Draft, coordinate, and approve press releases, statements, Q&As, and media briefings.
• Prepare executives and SAS spokespersons for interviews and appearances.
• Support executive communications, including talking points and presentations.
• Contribute to crisis communications planning and execution.
• Monitor Norwegian media coverage and provide insights to management.
• Ensure consistent messaging across markets, channels, and departments.
• Support communications relating to SAS strategy, operations, and sustainability.
• Collaborate across the Scandinavian communications team on priorities.
