Job summary

Beyond Sports is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Java) - Contractor to deliver robust backend services powering global sports experiences. You will work on Java/Spring Boot systems, design scalable APIs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to handle real-time data, video, and live commentary.

The role is fully remote within Hungary, with no line management duties. Excellent problem solving, performance, and reliability focus is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in Java 11+ and Spring Boot for backend services.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and microservice architectures.
• Strong knowledge of ORM with JPA/Hibernate and data modeling.
• Hands-on with Git, CI/CD and writing API documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable backend systems using Java and Spring Boot.
• Deliver clean, testable, and well-documented code.
• Develop RESTful APIs to support web and mobile apps.
• Integrate with third-party data providers for sports data, video, and commentary.
• Manage deployments across environments (Dev, Test, Staging, Prod).
• Write technical docs and participate in code reviews.
• Contribute to sprint planning and delivery-focused meetings.
