Job summary

Zepz in London is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to modernise Android experiences that onboard millions of users and verify identities within a regulated cross-border remittance platform.

You will work with product, design, and compliance to raise the technical bar across architecture, testing, CI/CD, and release practices while delivering features customers rely on to move money safely.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Kotlin and modern Android development practices.
• Experience with Compose and legacy XML-based UI and a strategy for modernisation.
• Strong understanding of Android app architecture and lifecycle, testing, and performance.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery of team-level outcomes end-to-end on Android identity flows from design through release and production monitoring.
• Own the native identity surface: camera-based document capture, biometric authentication, secure credential storage, and fraud/device signal integrations.
• Set and maintain the team’s quality bar: strengthen testing strategy, streamline CI/CD, uphold architectural boundaries, and reduce change-failure rate.
• Mentor engineers on the team and provide technical guidance.
• Drive pragmatic modernization by sequencing framework and architecture changes around product delivery.
• Collaborate with Product and Design to shape approaches and surface risks early, ensuring native experiences are optimized.
