Job summary

Aquanav is seeking a seasonal truck driver to transport goods on Svalbard, a remote Arctic island. The role involves driving on unpaved roads to villages and research stations, with long hours in extreme weather.

This physically demanding position requires a heavy-vehicle license, at least 2 years driving experience, and a biometric passport for travel to Svalbard. Accommodation is provided for the 6-month duration.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license for heavy vehicles.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a truck driver.
• Knowledge of road safety regulations and procedures.
• Ability to navigate using GPS or maps.
• Biometric passport for travel to Svalbard (non-negotiable).
• Willingness to work long hours and be away from home for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Transport goods from warehouses to various locations on the island.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections of the truck and report any issues or malfunctions.
• Ensure safe loading and unloading of goods.
• Follow all road safety regulations and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other drivers.
• Keep accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, etc.
