Job summary

Odfjell Drilling Ltd. is seeking an offshore Safety Officer for the Deepsea Atlantic project with UK sector operations and a 3-6 crew rotation. The role emphasizes proactive safety, strong collaboration, and effective incident investigations in challenging environments.

You will join a global operator with a 1-year UK project duration, starting February 2027, and a Norwegian sector return planned after the assignment. Fluency in Norwegian and English is essential.

Qualifications

  • Higher education (MSc, BSc or equivalent).
  • Solid QHSE experience on MODUs.
  • Fluent written and spoken Norwegian and English.
  • Proficient in IT systems and safety software.
  • Knowledge of QHSE regulations on NCS and UK.
  • Basic Offshore Safety course and Offshore health certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in daily QHSE activities offshore.
  • Support preparation and revisions of procedures and documents.
  • Lead local incident investigations offshore.
  • Verify compliance with safety rules and tools.
  • Follow up non-conformances, incidents, and deficiencies.
  • Maintain the offshore Competence Management System.
  • Provide training in the use of PPE.
  • Facilitate risk assessments and MOC processes offshore.

The rig is currently operating on UK sector. Crew rotation is on a 3-6 schedule


Approx duration of the UK project is 1 year – before returning to Norwegian sector (TBA)

Start date of employment: February 2027

KEY DUTIES
  • Assist in the daily QHSE activities
  • Support in the preparation and revisions of procedures, documents, and instructions
  • Lead local incident investigations
  • Verify compliance with safety rules, procedures, instructions, and safety tools
  • Systematically follow up non-conformances, incident reports and deficiencies related to QHSE
  • Maintain the offshore Competence Management System
  • Provide training in the use PPE
  • Facilitate risk assessments and MOC processes offshore
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Higher education (MSc, BSc or equivalent)
  • Documented solid experience within QHSE work on MODUs
  • Fluent written/oral in Norwegian and English language
  • Proficient in the use of IT systems
  • Good knowledge of QHSE regulations and standards on NCS and UK
  • Basic Offshore Safety course and Offshore health certificate
