Job summary

Dollar General is hiring a store associate to be the primary contact for customers, stock shelves, and operate the cash register. You will help locate products, maintain plan-o-grams, and ensure a clean, well-presented store environment.

Responsibilities include unloading shipments, building displays, stocking merchandise, and assisting with ordering using handheld scanners while upholding company policies and quick, friendly service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to read plan‑ogram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Basic cash handling and math skills.
• Experience with IBM cash registers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise in the store.
• Receive, open, unpack cartons and stock room items; move to sales floor as needed.
• Build and rotate merchandise displays; restock as required.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise and answer questions.
• Greet customers and operate the cash register to total purchases.
• Collect payment, give change, and bag items.
• Clean store areas, stockroom, and restrooms; maintain safety and policies.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners when needed.
